Statement on Heart Disease & Dog Food - PURPOSE PET FOOD

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is investigating a possible dietary link between certain grain-free pet foods and canine dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), a type of heart disease found in dogs. According to their recent statement, dog foods containing potatoes and legumes (such as peas, lentils and other legume seeds) that are listed as primary ingredients are of concern and potentially have a connection to DCM.

Purpose does not contain any of the ingredients in question in neither our dog nor cat food formulas. Following a high-protein ancestrally appropriate diet, Purpose dog food formulas are comprised of 95% single, humanely sourced protein and 5% organic vegetables and fruits. There are no potatoes or legumes in any Purpose formula.
